Compassionate gift creates community impact

An anonymous contributor left his estate, worth more than $1.5 million, to United Way of Miami-Dade. The gift comprises the contributor's home and its contents, his cars and most of his savings. This generous gift - the first of its kind for our endowment fund - will help The United Way Endowment improve lives throughout our community.

In 2003, this contributor enlisted the help of his financial advisor, Frank Amigo, Coral Gables branch manager of Raymond James & Associates, to handle his estate. When Amigo learned that the contributor didn't have any living close relatives, he suggested The United Way Endowment as a beneficiary. That way, he would have the satisfaction of knowing that his life's earnings would go toward helping others throughout Miami-Dade.

This gift illustrates the fact that a single gesture of generosity creates a legacy in our community that will be remembered always and will help those who need it most for years to come.
